Terms of Use
Lowkei is not an emergency service, a therapist or a medical device. If you are in danger or thinking about ending your life, call your local emergency number now. In India, call 112, or Tele-MANAS on 14416. Lowkei lists more crisis lines under calm → help.
These terms are an agreement between you and [OPERATOR NAME] (“we”, “us”), who provides the Lowkei app. By using Lowkei you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Lowkei
You must be 18 or older. By using Lowkei you confirm that you are.
2. What Lowkei is, and what it isn’t
Lowkei is a private journal and mood tracker. It helps you notice patterns in how you feel, sleep and move. Readings, patterns, forecasts and the Mirror’s replies are generated by software from the data you give it. They are reflections, not facts about you.
Lowkei does not provide medical, psychological or psychiatric advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Don’t delay or stop seeking professional help because of anything in the app. Lowkei cannot contact anyone on your behalf, including in an emergency.
3. The Mirror and AI reflections
The Mirror and vent reflections are written by an AI system. The Mirror is not a person. Its replies can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate, and you should not rely on them for decisions about your health, safety, money or relationships. AI reflections are optional and off unless you switch them on.
4. Your account and your data
You need an account to use Lowkei, made with your email address; you sign in with a six-digit code sent to it. Keep your phone and any app lock secure; anyone who can open the app can read what is in it.
Most of what you write is stored only on your phone. We cannot recover it if the phone is lost or the app is deleted, so download a copy if it matters to you.
What you write is yours. You give us only the permission needed to run the features you use — for example, to pass a Mirror message to the AI service when you send one, or to show your Inner Weather to your circle. You can erase your account and data at any time from the You tab.
5. Circle
Circle lets you share a small amount — your Inner Weather, that you’re running low, and your weekday rhythm — with people you choose. Only add people you trust. You must not use Circle to harass, threaten, pressure or monitor anyone, or invite someone who hasn’t agreed to be in your circle.
The name and picture you show your circle must not be offensive, impersonate someone else, or infringe anyone’s rights. You can remove anyone from your circle at any time, and they will stop seeing anything of yours.
To report misuse of Circle, write to the grievance contact in section 12. We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and act on them within 15 days, and we may change a name or picture, or remove access to Circle, for anyone who misuses it.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse Lowkei. In particular, don’t:
- try to access another person’s account or data;
- interfere with, overload or probe the app or its servers, or get around its limits;
- use the Mirror to produce content that is illegal, sexually exploits anyone, or harms others;
- use Lowkei to send spam, malware or anything you don’t have the right to share;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
7. Copyright
The Lowkei app, its design, illustrations and text belong to us or our licensors. The typefaces are used under the SIL Open Font License.
If you believe something in Lowkei or on our site infringes your copyright, send a notice to the grievance contact in section 12 with: your name and contact details; the work you say is infringed; where the material is in Lowkei; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorised; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for its owner. We will review it, remove the material where appropriate, and tell the person who posted it, who may send a counter-notice. We will end access for repeat infringers.
8. Availability and changes
Lowkei is free, and is provided as it is and as available. Features may change, pause or stop, and the server may sometimes be slow or offline. We may update these terms; if a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Lowkei after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Ending
You can stop using Lowkei at any time, and erase everything from the You tab. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to by law. Sections 2, 3, 7, 10 and 11 continue to apply after that.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties about Lowkei beyond those that cannot be excluded, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data stored on your device. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard by the courts at [CITY], India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
